Answer this detective question.... anyone?

A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met this guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing, so much her dream guy she believed him to be, that she fell in love with him right there but never asked for his number and could not find him. A few days later she killed her sister.

Question: What is her motive in killing her sister?

Solution to Bjorn's question.

The question.

Since no one is willing to post their solutions, I will reveal the answers.

Read carefully, your Guru speaks!

Firstly, the calculation is erroneous. I am using a counter-example,

You should not do 3 x $9 + $2 = $29.
What if the owner gave back $10 and the bellboy pocketed $1, leaving $9 to be shared among the three? Each will get $3 back, hence each paid only $7.
3 x $7 + $1 = $22. What happened to the $8?

In fact, we should look at only the cost of the room.
In the original question, the room cost $25. $25 = 3 x $9 - $2 (each paid $9 and $25 goes to the room, $2 to the bellboy)

In my counter example, the room cost $20. $20 = 3 x $7 - $1

See?

try this question i found^^

this blog no ppl post things de... so i start posting first

* 3 guys rented a hotel room that cost RM30 per night. So the 3 guys paid RM30 to the cashier.
* Which means, each of them coughed up RM10 to pay for it.
* However, the hotel was having some sort of promotion that night, and the room only cost RM25 per night.
* So the cashier handed over RM5 to a bellboy asking him to refund the 3 guys.
* Out of greed, the bellboy secretly pocket RM2 out of the RM5, and then returned RM3 to the 3 guys.
* Having returned RM3, each guy then took back RM1.
* So, in total, each guy paid RM9.

Here's the equation:

Each guy paid RM9.
RM9 x 3 = RM27

The bellboy pocket RM2.
RM27 + RM2 = RM29

So where did the remaining RM1 go?

As Requested by Arif

Dear Arif and all 4N1s (2009), to ask questions regarding a particular topic, you need to create a new post and preferably if you can , type the question here or embed the question as a picture file. Then I will give tips as comments.

anyway, here are the clues to Set A Q4-5

Can you see the patterns? For more info., refer to ch. 6 of your textbook.

During a race there are 5 drivers named, Takumi , zero , Kaname , Yuuki and Kira who drove their car , mazda rx-7 ,mazda rx-8 ,nissan skyline ,mitsubishi evolution9 and Lamborghini gallardo respectively .Through asia starting from Singapore to Indonesia. The table below show the amount of petrol used per kilometer and the time taken for the race.
A) The cars needs to use the amount of petrol above. Form 2 matrices so that the matrix product can find the total distance in kilometer. Hence, find the average speed.

B) Calculate the total cost of the petrol in dollars used if 1 litre of the petrol cost $2.20.

Matrix Competition: group 8

A group of singer album their songs into three different album such as the DBSK, TVXQ and Tohoshinki. Their album was ordered by four factory from different country at the table shown below.
a) Write down 2 matrices such that the product gives the total amount of price
for each shop.
b) Find the total amount of money needed to pay the album in
a month.
i) The price of the album are in Sing $.Hence find the price in Rupiah when 1Sing$ =
7.800 rupiah.

Matrix competition group 10

3 teachers, mdm lo, mr sng and miss tan were in the moe website for the best teachers award they were judged as follows:
mdm lo has 300 votes for students 15 votes from staffs 300 votes from moe users and 30 votes from others respectively.
mr sng has 200 from students,25 from staffs,200 from moe and 20 from others respectively while
miss tan has 100 from students,10 from staffs,50 from moe users and 5 from others. The cost of votes is $0.30 per student,$0.20 per staff, $0.10 per moe user and $1.00 for others.
a)write down two matrices such as the to find the total cost of votes
b) the company made a mistake and increase the cost of votes increase by 10% the last minute, calculate the new matrix using a scalar.

The world consists ofthree major terrorists group, the group are called JM members, talibang and AL-qaeda.They use different types of bombs to bomb a country which are shown below in the table.

The cost of one siao bomb is $64, one cost of lame bomb is $120, one cost of babi bomb is $95 and the cost of one cow bomb is double of the cost of siao bomb.

i)Write down two matrices such that the matrix multiplication give the price of bomb per terrorising a country.

ii)The JM memeber then got to know that half of their babi bomb was fake.Find the total price of all the three terrorist group atfer they have bomb a total of 7 countries.
